Founded in 1824, Manchester Metropolitan University has a rich history. Currently, the university is proud to be one of the UK’s largest universities with more than 35,000 students from over 135 countries around the world. Manchester Metropolitan is also honoured to be in the Top 60 leading universities in the UK (ranked 56th) in the Complete University Guide 2020.

 

Manchester Metropolitan University has also achieved a Silver rating in the Teaching and Training Framework 2017, one of the most prestigious rankings in the world, and up to 85% of the university’s research is internationally recognized.

 

The university’s two-member schools namely School of Architecture and School of Business are also present in the outstanding rankings, respectively as follows:

  • School of Architecture is ranked 9th in the world (QS World University Rankings, 2019)

LOCATION

Manchester Metropolitan University has seven campuses: six in Manchester city and one in Cheshire. The university’s main campus is located in the heart of Manchester, one of the most liveable cities for student according to the 2019 Global Liveability Index by the Economist Intelligence Unit. Besides, it is also known as the world’s "Sports City" with the Manchester football team and the legendary Old Trafford. SUPPORT FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

The university provides the necessary assistance for international students from the moment they put their luggage in their rooms, either in dormitories or in boarding rooms. All students will be supported by the Student Life Group Advisors. At the same time, the university’s Immigration and Health team will enthusiastically advise students on all matters like visa, BRP or immigration, extension and course change. 

 

The university’s percentage of graduates goes straight into work or further study after 6 months of graduation reaches 93% according to the DHLE survey 2016. This comes from the great help of the university’s counselling services, free support for students in terms of learning, international students’ language improving, internships opportunities providing, CV and letter cover editing, etc.

ACADEMIC TRAINING PROGRAMMES

Manchester Metropolitan University offers many foundation, undergraduate and graduate programs as well as postgraduate research programs. The university currently offers training in disciplines such as Business, Science and Technology, Design, Law, Humanities, Health, Psychology, Architecture, Hotel Tourism, Education, etc. Students can also apply for 1 year of paid internship at the end of their second year and complete their remaining year later.

  • English Level: IELTS 5.5 (no band >= 5.0)

  • Average tuition: £15,995/year

2. Bachelor 

  • Starting date: Depending on discipline

  • Required Qualifications: Graduated from high school

  • English Level: IELTS 6.0 (no band <5.5)

  • Average tuition: £16,500/ year

3. Pre-master (2 or 3 semesters 

  • Starting date: September (3 SEMs.) January (2 SEMs.)

  • Required Qualifications: Graduated from university

  • English Level: 2 SEMs.: IELTS 5.5 (writing and reading scores >=5.5; no band < 4.0)

  • Average tuition: £8,000/ year

4. Master

  • Starting date: Depending on discipline

  • Required Qualifications: Graduated from university

  • English Level: IELTS 6.5 (no band <5.5)

  • Average tuition: £15,500/ year

SCHOLARSHIPS

Manchester Metropolitan University offers a variety of scholarships with value up to £5.000 for students having outstanding academic achievements and extracurricular activities.
